Use AI to make learning effective, teachers told

Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, held a workshop to improve the quality of post-graduate (PG) courses for the 2025-26 academic session at the Tagore Bhawan Extension Hall on Friday.

The event was organised by the office of the Dean (Academic Affairs), and inaugurated by Dean (Academic Affairs) Suresh Gehlawat.

Gehlawat said the university would implement National Education Policy (NEP) at the PG level from the 2025-26 session. A strong syllabus built a better future for students, he added, stating that the university ordinance for the transition was ready.

The goal of the workshop was to inform teachers about top university courses across India.

Dean (Humanities) and Head (English department) Pankaj Sharma, as the resource person at the event, emphasised using artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching to make learning more effective.

He delved into how teachers could design modern, practical syllabi geared towards preparing students for real-world careers.

Sharma introduced AI tools useful in curriculum development, and spoke about including skill-based and job-related courses such as digital media, entrepreneurship, data analytics, public relations, start-up, and soft skills.

The workshop focused on key NEP themes such as syllabus structure, multidisciplinary learning and skill development.

Faculty and researchers joined group discussions and suggested adding career-focused subjects to the current curriculum.
