Vaish College students win kabaddi tourney
Vaish College, Bhiwani, won the inter-college kabaddi competition organised at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU) on Sunday. While the college won in the men’s category, Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya clinched the first position in the women’s category.
Nine teams in women’s category and eight teams in the men’s category from various colleges participated in the two-day inter-college contest.
The chief guest, BJP MLA from the Bawani Khera Assembly segment, Kapoor Valmiki said the state government had always encouraged the sportspersons to take part in sports-related activities. He said the sports policy of the state government was in the interest of players. He called upon the youth to stay away from drugs and participate in sports.
Vice-Chancellor Deepti Dharmani said the players of the university had always brought glory to the state. Kabaddi player Dronacharya and Padma Shri awardee Sunil Dabas called upon the youth to play a sport.
In the women’s category, the team of Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya secured the first place while Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jhojhu Kalan, secured the second position. The CBLU’s university teaching department and Government Women’s College, Loharu, jointly secured the third place.
In the men’s category , the team of Vaish College clinched the first place, Maharaja Neempal Singh Government College, Bhiwani, secured the second rank, and BLJS, Tosham, and Government College, Bond Kalan, jointly secured the third position.
