Vaish college wins football champion
Vaish Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Rohtak, won an inter-college women’s football tournament by defeating the Maharani Kishori Jat Kanya Mahavidyalaya (MKJK), Rohtak, in the final match by 1-0. The team of Pt Neki Ram Sharma College, Rohtak, secured third position.
Prof Rajendra Prasad Garg, Director (Sports), Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, was the chief guest at the event, who presented trophies and medals to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, Garg assured the players of providing them with all kinds of facilities. He also shared information with the players about the facilities and prizes being provided by the MDU’s Sports Department. “The MDU provides its teams the facility of travelling in AC 3 tier, while the daily allowance given to the players is also higher than other universities. The players who win medals at the Khelo India University Games are given cash prizes of Rs 31,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 21,000. A training camp is also organised for the players and the best quality uniforms are given to them,” Garg claimed.
Dr Rashmi Gupta, Principal, Vaish college, also felicitated all the players and guest trainers by giving them gifts. Dr Munni Joon, Dr Surjit Nimma, Dr Rekha Narwal, Dr Suman Mann, Dr Dharmendra Kadyan, Dr Mastram and Dr Padma Mittal were among those present on the occasion.
