Hisar: Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar, along with National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, is going to organise the 22nd National Convocation-cum-Scientific Convention on “Sustainable Animal Health and Production: Exploring Challenges and Priorities” from November 29 to 30. The event will be organised under the patron leadership of Vice-Chancellor LUVAS, Prof Vinod Kumar Verma. A formal meeting was organised in which the VC released the first information brochure of the upcoming event. After releasing the brochure, VC Verma said the event will make its mark in the development of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry in the country. Organising Secretary Dr Gulshan Narang, Dean of College of Veterinary Sciences, said many renowned veterinary professional members of the NAVS, along with scientist and students, from different universities of the country will take part in this programme. He said four technical sessions in different areas of animal health and production will be organised during the convention.

KU releases brochure on seminar

Kurukshetra: Kurukshetra University’s Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva released the brochure of the ICSSR-sponsored two-day ‘National Seminar on Vision 2047: Aligning Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with India’s Development Aspirations’. The event will be organised from August 29 to 30, in hybrid mode, by the Department of Economics, Kurukshetra University. Director Public Relations Prof Maha Singh Poonia said the two-day seminar will foster a constructive dialogue among academicians and stakeholders to chart a sustainable and inclusive path towards ‘Vision-2047’.

Varsity introduces new UG courses

Kurukshetra: JCD Memorial College has introduced two new undergraduate programmes, BSc Data Science and BSc Health and Physical Education, in response to the increasing demand from students and parents for timely education and employment opportunities. These courses aim to fulfil the growing need for specialised skills in data analysis and sports science, providing students with new avenues. Chairman of JCD University, Arjun Singh Chautala, extended his best wishes to the college and management on the commencement of these two courses. He emphasised that both the courses are future-centric that reflect the forward-thinking approach of JCD University. He highlighted the institution’s proactive stance in adapting to future needs, always staying ahead of the curve. Dr Kuldip Singh Dhindsa, Director General of JCD Vidyapeeth, expressed that the Vidyapeeth aims to provide world-class education to students from all backgrounds, offering opportunities for advancement.

Varsity Faculty receives Fellowship

Mahendragarh: Dr Rupesh Deshmukh, Associate Professor and Head of the Biotechnology Department, CUH, has been awarded the prestigious William Gamble Fellowship. He expressed his gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, stating that his guidance and support made this achievement possible. The William Gamble Fellowship, established in memory of William Gamble, principal of Dookie College in Australia from 1916 to 1921, provides an opportunity to work at the University of Melbourne for three months to exchange research ideas and teaching philosophies.
