A joint team from the Mining and Police Department conducted a raid and impounded a tractor-trailer while transporting mining stones illegally in the Nangal Chaudhary area on Saturday night.

The team, which was monitoring the hills near Golwa village, saw the illegal activity being conducted when they spotted the tractor-trailer carrying stones. The team swiftly impounded the tractor. However, the driver managed to escape in the darkness. Despite a lengthy chase, the driver could not be apprehended.

Rajesh Kumar, Mining Officer, said Mahendragarh was a mineral-rich district and the district-level task force, set up by the Deputy Commissioner, was actively working to combat illegal mining activities.

He further said that regular raids were being conducted across various locations, including crusher sites. He added that strict actions were being taken against anyone found engaging in illegal mining activities.
