The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Gurugram, has submitted a memorandum to the DC requesting that during the sacred period of Navratri, all meat and fish shops operating in the district should be closed, a VHP official said. The VHP said such shops near temples, institutions and residential areas hurt the devotees’ sentiments. Besides, it noted, hygiene regulations were being violated in many shops.
