Vij replies to party notice, refuses to give details
Cabinet minister Anil Vij today said that he had sent his reply to the BJP high command regarding the show-cause notice issued against him, and was ready to give more replies if the party wanted.
Taking a serious note of the statements by the senior BJP leader against CM Nayab Singh Saini and state BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli, the BJP had issued a show-cause notice to Vij.
The minister has reportedly sent an eight-page reply to the high command.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Vij said, “I was asked to give a reply within three days, and I have submitted my reply in time. I was in Bengaluru and came to know about the show-cause notice through the media. Before I got the hard copy of the notice, it was already in the media. It was a secret communication between two people. How it was leaked to the media and who is leaking the letters is a matter of investigation. If the party wants, this angle should also be investigated.”
Refusing to divulge the details of his reply, he said, “I will not disclose what I have written. I have even torn the copy of my reply and will burn it. I have mentioned everything I could remember and also told the party that if it wants my reply on any other issue, it can tell me. I will reply.”
The party had issued a notice to Vij for allegedly breaching party discipline through his public statements. In the notice, issued by Badoli on the directions of the national party president, Vij was asked to respond within three days.
Vij had earlier made back-to-back statements expressing dissatisfaction against his own government and criticised Saini, saying that the CM was unaware of the ground realities. He had also called for Badoli’s resignation on “moral grounds” after the latter was named in a rape case in Kasauli.
