Vij reviews development projects of Ambala Cantonment
State Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Anil Vij held a review meeting regarding ongoing projects in Ambala Cantonment at his residence on Sunday, and directed officials to complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Officials of the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, and local BJP leaders attended the meeting.During the meeting, Anil Vij reviewed various projects and directed the municipal council officials to expedite the ongoing development works. He assessed the progress of laying of sewerage line in various areas of Ambala Cantonment and instructed the officials to repair the roads in the areas where pipelines had already been installed.
He also inquired about the construction of sewage treatment plants (STPs) at Babyal, Khudda Khurd, Machhonda, and 12 Cross Road. The officials informed him that the STP at Babyal was complete, while the remaining three would be completed soon.
The Cabinet Minister reviewed the installation of stormwater pipelines near Nigar Cinema and instructed the officials to relocate the electricity poles obstructing the road. While reviewing the progress of stormwater pipeline installation in the Sadar area, Vij directed the officials to check the water drainage levels at various locations.
Similarly, he directed the removal of overhead wires in front of the under-construction Bank Square. He also instructed the officials to provide bicycles for the cycle track at Gandhi Ground to ensure its early inauguration.
While inquiring about the multi-level car parking on Railway Road, the minister directed the MC officials to install a shed on the top floor of the multi-level car parking to accommodate more cars. He also instructed officials to expedite work on the car lift in the parking facility. He also instructed the officials to start the construction of a wall along the Gudgudiya drain on Eidgah Road.
Executive Officer of Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, Ravinder Singh, Executive Engineer Mandeep Singh, BJP leaders Vijender Chauhan, Kiranpal Chauhan, and other officials and party leaders were present during the meeting.
