Villagers protest poor Juan-Karewri road condition
Enraged by the deplorable condition of the Juan-Karewri village road, a Zila Parishad member, along with local villagers, staged a protest on Sunday. Sitting on the muddy, potholed road, they raised slogans against the district administration for its neglect of their demand for road repairs.
Zila Parishad member, Sanjay Badwasnia, along with villagers Rajbeer, Rajesh, Kuldeep, Sandeep, Mahender and Jogender, said the road’s condition worsened after recent rains. They said the road had become difficult to navigate due to its muddy state.
Badwasnia highlighted the significant problem faced by residents in Karewri village, stating the road had been severely damaged by loader dumpers. He also mentioned the frequent accidents occurring due to the road’s poor condition and noted many village residents were confined to their homes due to the worsening situation. Despite paying taxes, the villagers alleged the district administration had not addressed their concerns.
Badwasnia raised the problem with PWD officials, urging them to prioritise repairs. Badwasnia said PWD officers assured him the road would be repaired within two to three days. However, he said if the repairs were not completed within the given time, the villagers would protest at the PWD office and stage a dharna on Gohana Road.
