Vinod Bhatia, a senior official of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), joined as the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Ambala Division, Northern Railway, on Friday.
He succeeds Mandeep Singh Bhatia (IRTS).
Vinod Bhatia, an engineer in electronics and communication and a PhD from IIT-Delhi, is a 1997 batch officer and was working in the Railway Board as an Executive Director.
A railway spokesman said the new DRM had worked extensively in railways/logistics sector. While his experience as Senior Divisional Operations Manager (DOM) in Ferozepur Division and GM/CONCOR would help him oversee and bring efficiency gains in train running, his tenure at the Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) and Railway Board would provide him the scale to take Ambala Division to new heights.
Interacting with officers, Vinod Bhatia spoke about improving efficiency, earnings, infrastructure, safety, public management and innovation.
