The university has planned a cultural extravaganza that will not only showcase the students’ talent, but will also offer them a platform to learn and grow.

The university came into existence in 2014.

“This year, the Foundation Day function will be very different from the previous years. It will be a vibrant blend of culture, art and creativity, featuring Haryana folk dance, Ragini performances, a play, musical band, fashion show and an exhibition — all put together by our students. The aim is to showcase their talent before local audiences and distinguished guests from across the country,” said Amit Arya, Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The Vice-Chancellor maintained that several eminent personalities from fields like film and television, fine arts, design, visual arts and mass communication, along with prominent alumni, would be in attendance.

Arya noted that celebrating Foundation Day just ahead of Independence Day is a happy coincidence. “Both days are important to us and we are celebrating the occasion with patriotic fervour throughout the week. The students have been given the charge of organising the events, with support from the university administration, as a way to enhance their event management skills and boost their confidence. On Independence Day, the senior-most sweeper, gardener, security guard and peon will have the honour of hoisting Tricolour for the first time,” he added.

The VC pointed out that, “Students and alumni are the real assets of any institution. Their performance and achievements define the image of the university. That’s why, this year, the students will take the lead in organising and presenting the show,” he added.

Gunjan Malik Manocha, Registrar, said this was a mega event and the students were working hard to ensure they gave their best on August 14.
