The Nuh police have arrested a wanted criminal who had a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. An illegal country-made pistol and a cartridge were seized from his possession.
According to the police, the arrested has been identified as Asgar, a resident of Mathepur village in Palwal district. He was apprehended by the CIA, Tauru, near the bypass on Wednesday.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused was wanted in connection with about half a dozen cases of ATM theft in the Gopalganj police station area of Bihar since 2023. The Bihar Police had also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for his arrest.
“An FIR under the Arms Act has been registered against the accused at the Tauru police station. We are questioning the suspect, and there is a possibility that many more crimes will be uncovered during the investigation. The Bihar police have also been informed about the arrest,” said Krishan Kumar, spokesperson for the Nuh police. — OC
