What our readers say: Construction of multi-level parking yet to start
AT a time when thousands of vehicle owners in Kaithal are harassed and forced to park their vehicles on roadsides haphazardly, the state government is yet to come to their rescue. Due to the lack of parking space, chaos prevails on Kaithal roads. It seems there is no possibility that the municipal council would start construction work of the multi-storeyed parking behind its office. Though the announcement to construct multiple- level parking was made during the Congress regime, the project has remained on paper after so many years. Residents say the site chosen for the project was not suitable as the entry and exit of vehicles from the lot would be slow, which would aggravate traffic snarls near the municipal council office.

Agreements for sale should be mandatorily registered
At present, agreements for the sale of properties are not mandatorily registered in the State of Haryana as these do not involve transfer of any right, title or interest of any immovable property. Due to this, the land mafia or unscrupulous people enter into agreements for the sale of the property and take huge amount in advance. Later, they refuse to get property registered in the name of the buyer and flee with life savings of the innocent people. If the Haryana Government makes it compulsory to register all agreements for property sale, it would discourage circulation of black money used for the purchase of immovable property and prevent undervaluation of documents for paying stamp duty. Besides, it would discourage activities of land mafia and musclemen who dominate the real estate sector across Haryana. Shakti Singh, Karnal
