In a tactical move, the government has done well to allow the peaceful tractor-rally though purported to be a show of strength by farmers. Its conclusion ought to mark the suspension of agitation forthwith, to lend time and space to intermediaries to work out an amicable settlement of the two-month long imbroglio. Not only the people, but even the apex court, stood by protesting farmers, but no more if the adversaries of the government are allowed to hijack the situation to settle their political scores which proves detrimental to public interest and economy. Now, onus is on farmers to see reason.

Car tyre thieves active on foggy winter nights

Since a majority of vehicle owners don’t have covered parking in their homes, they are forced to park their vehicles outside in the open. In winters, it becomes very difficult to keep a watch on vehicles which are parked outside.Thieves find this a God-sent opportunity. They put bricks under the chassis of cars and steal tyres with rims and leave easily in the foggy night. The police must look into the problem being faced by people in the town.

Shopkeepers encroach upon Thanesar road

In Thanesar (Kurukshetra), there is a busy road from Birla Mandir Chowk to Shastri Market. Alongside the road many shops have opened, but there are two shops, facing each other that have ‘encroached’ half of this wide road by displaying their wares, leaving little place for the use of general public. Officials of the civic body and the police are well aware of this fact, but no action is taken to permanently remove the encroachment. The authorities concerned should take note and take immediate action.

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
