Overflowing nullahs irk residents

Though crores have been spent on laying sewer lines and setting up of sewage treatment plant in Kaithal, waste water overflowing nullahs outside Partap Gate on the Kaithal-Khanouri road has become a major irritant for residents. The area has taken the shape of a dirty stinking pond on outskirts of the town. Educational institutions, cremation ground and temples are situated in vicinity of this area. The departments concerned have turned a blind eye towards this grave problem which needs to be addressed on priority basis. Satish Seth, Kaithal

Substandard material used to construct speed-breakers

Thers is a lot of movement of heavy vehicles on the road heading from Sir Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Namaste Chowk towards Gogripur railway overbridge on the Hansi road. Speed-breakers were constructed just a week ago for safe movement of traffic on this road. What is surprising is that these speed-breakers have broken in such a short span of time. Substandard material has been used for the construction of speed-breakers. The authorities concerned should get this work investigated.
