What our readers say: Acute staff shortage at Civil Hospital
The Civil Hospital in the town is facing acute shortage of doctors and paramedic staff. Out of the 55 sanctioned posts of doctors, only eight are occupied at present. There’s no specialist of gynaecology, radiology, medicine and skin. Patients are routinely referred to the PGI in Rohtak and Agroha. The hospital building is dilapidated. The generator set at the hospital is also lying defunct. In the absence of power backup in case of electricity failure, emergency services like lab blood tests take a lot of time, leaving patients harassed. The government should appoint sufficient staff at the hospital on a priority basis.

Promoting health through yoga
Women gather at Ambedkar Park in Sector 13 every day to practise yoga with the help of experts of the Indian Yoga Institute for promoting health and wellness. Yoga sessions focus on enhancing physical and mental well-being, while inspiring participants to adopt a healthier lifestyle and encouraging more women to join and experience the transformative benefits of yoga. Similar to improving range of motion, yoga improves muscle flexibility, balances posture, has immense cardiovascular benefits, helps in weight loss, reduces stress and builds community.
