KAITHAL Municipal Council recently replaced the contractor, who was engaged to ensure cleanliness in the city, unfortunately, the sanitation condition has worsened since. Heaps of garbage can be spotted lying across the city. Municipal officials of the sanitation branch and other senior members of the council have turned a blind eye towards the situation. Although a few residents and some councillors raised the matter with the officials, they were blatantly ignored. The residents demand that the state government direct the officials of the administration to supervise the cleanliness in the city and take the contractor and staff concerned to task for their laxity.

Stray cattle menace in Yamunanagar

The Chopra Garden area of Yamunanagar is especially plagued by the bovine menace. A number of strays can be seen roaming the streets of the colony at any time of the day. Owners of these animals let them loose with no care for the inconvenience caused to common people. The entire area remains littered with the excrement of these animals, posing a threat of diseases. More importantly, these animals pose a serious threat to children, women and senior citizens, as happened in Kurukshetra recently. These animals should be caught and sent to gaushalas and a heavy penalty should be levied on their owners. Requests have been made to the authorities concerned multiple times, but to no avail. We urge the authorities concerned to take prompt action.
