Cow dung is being disposed of by owners of unauthorised dairies in open spaces in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. This poses as a health hazard to residents as the area becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes and attracts flies. The authorities of the Municipal Corporation should shift unauthorised dairies immediately. —Anil Kaushik, Yamunanagar

toilets unclean at mini-secretariat

The toilets at the Mini-Secretariat in Jagadhri often remain unclean. These are in poor state on all floors of the building and emanate a foul smell. The authorities concerned should look into the matter. —Harsh, Jagadhri

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
