LOCALS of Narwana and adjoining villages throng the main vegetable market to stock up on groceries, but the conditions there are pitiable. Choked drains, coverless manholes, discarded crates, overflowing sewage, stagnant water and cattle feasting on the rotting produce are some of the routine things one might spot at the market, making visiting it an ordeal fraught with danger amid the presence of feral dogs and bulls. Many people have stopped visiting the market altogether on account of its lack of cleanliness. The sanitary staff of the market committee should look into the issue and take effective measures to maintain proper hygiene in the entire area. Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Filthy civic conditions prevailing in historic village

Sihi village, located right in the heart of the city (Sector8), has become a victim of the apathy of the local administration. Poor civic conditions, including overflowing and choked sewage, broken roads, poor supply of water and power have become the bane of the village despite its location and it being the birth place of famous historical poet Sant Surdas. The alleged failure of the civic authorities for the maintenance and upkeep of the civic infrastructure has made the residents live in pathetic conditions. Urgent action must be taken in this regard and the accountability of the authorities and elected representatives need to be probed. Sumit Gaur, Faridabad

Jhajjar residents receive contaminated water supply

REsidents of the Haripura locality in Jhajjar have been receiving contaminated water supply for several days. The water is not only murky but also has a bad smell. Many residents have fallen sick after drinking it, while many have been forced to either buy clean water or fetch it from other places. The authorities concerned should resolve the issue at the earliest so that residents can get clean and safe drinking water. Ashok, Jhajjar

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
