THE Kaithal-Kharkan road via Sirta, Kheri Gulam Ali and Parbhot village is in a bad shape and needs immediate repair. The road is riddled with potholes due to poor maintenance by the PWD. At some places, the road has been damaged due to accumulation of water from overflowing drains while at other places, the road berms are not properly maintained to facilitate draining of rainwater from the road leading to damage. Due to the poor construction and maintenance, the repairs do not last long and results in wastage of public funds. The department concerned should take immediate steps. Satish Seth, Kaithal
Poor quality repair being done
LACK of proper management during the construction and repair works of roads in the city has been a matter of concern as the authorities have failed to address the matter so far. With the emergence of potholes and damaged patches worsening the condition of roads, officials tend to have adopted part-time or temporary measures to repair or relay the damaged sections. The Badkhal flyover, an important passage providing link between eastern and western parts of the city, has also been a victim of the apathy as it gets damaged often due to the poor quality of work. The authorities should stop wasting public funds by resorting to sub-standard methods of construction or repair works of the roads.

Safety enclosures for transformers must be installed
WHEN installing power transformers, it’s crucial to have secure safety enclosures around them to protect both people and animals passing by. However, in many areas, particularly in Old Gurugram, power officials often leave these transformers exposed, with loose wires hanging about. This negligence poses a serious risk to anyone who might accidentally come into contact with these transformers.

Stray dogs threat to residents
Residents of stray dogs roaming on Panipat roads have become a major problem for residents. The Municipal Corporation has failed to control the rising population of the canines in the city. The dogs pose a direct threat to the children and the elderly. The MC along with the Animal Husbandry Department should launch a campaign to curb the canine population. Deepak Saluja, Panipat
