Residents of the Haripur Damdama locality in Jhajjar city are a harassed lot due to the supply of dirty water in their area for the past some days. The blackish water gives a foul smell and it cannot be used even for washing clothes. In such a situation, the residents are compelled to bring potable water from other places to fulfil their daily needs. The authorities concerned are not paying heed despite the issue being raised. —Tilak Raj, Jhajjar
‘Superfluous’ charges from power bill should be withdrawn
Recently, domestic electricity bills issued by the UHBVN in Panchkula, imposed the fuel surcharge adjustment reliability charge, electricity duty and municipal tax, apart from the basic (slab based) electricity charges. In all fairness, imposition of all these superfluous charges (namely FSARC, electricity duty and municipal tax) should be withdrawn, the levying of which remains beyond comprehension. One hopes that the CM will soon come to the much-needed rescue. —SK Gupta, Panchkula
