Webs of scattered and dangling wires can be seen in many residential and commercial areas on many electricity poles, which pose a serious threat to people. These make the place look shabby. Cables of Internet and other television networks are interwoven in circular bundles, which further add to the cobwebs. Some wires are too close to the gates and windows of houses, exposing residents to the risk of electrocution. One wonders how linemen find faulty wires in these huge cobwebs of wires. The DHBVN should suitably fix these up and put such wires in underground ducts if possible.

Hisar colony faces sewerage problem

Several areas of Navdeep Colony in Ward Numbers 16 and 18 of the Municipal Corporation, Hisar, have been facing the problem of overflowing sewage and waterlogging on roads. At a patch near Ramsharan Mandir, the sewerage manhole overflow has created a stagnant pool of dirty water on the road. This has led to the breeding of mosquitoes and flies, resulting in local residents suffering from diseases like typhoid, malaria and fever. There is a continuous risk of other mishaps as well. Despite informing the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Hisar, no action has been taken so far. We request immediate action to prevent further health risks and accidents.
