He poured some thinner in the ‘diyas’, following which massive flames erupted and the victims came in contact with the fire.

In his complaint, Aman has stated that due to the flames, their clothes caught fire. After hearing their screams, his brother and neighbour reached there and rushed them to Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, from where Aman and his wife were referred to GMCH-32. Their son is undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ambala.

While Aman has suffered burn injury on his face, his wife has suffered burn injuries on the face, chest, and back. Their son has suffered burns on one side of his body.

Investigating Officer ASI Karambir said, “A contractor had given the house to some labourers. One labourer, Sunil Kumar, poured thinner in the ‘diyas’ due to which massive flames erupted. The woman has suffered nearly 25 per cent burns. The suspect will be arrested soon.”
