With the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) issuing the land allotment letter for the construction of a 100-bedded state-of-the-art Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Ambala Cantonment, the work on the project to come up at Sector 33 is expected to start soon.

The establishment of a state-of-the-art 100-bedded ESIC Hospital in Ambala Cantonment is expected to serve as a lifeline for insured workers and their dependent family members, ensuring advanced and accessible healthcare services close to their homes. With the modern facilities and healthcare services, this hospital will bring relief to the working class and general public.
Why is the project important for Ambala Cantonment?
The Ambala Cantonment and Saha Industrial Area are located adjacent to Sector 33, where thousands of workers are employed. In case of any emergency or incident, the insured workers will be able to get the required treatment in time, saving life without facing hardship as the hospital will have a 24×7 emergency and trauma care, along with a modern ICU. All insured employees and their dependents will get access to better healthcare facilities and timely care.
What are the services to be provided at the hospital?
The hospital will offer all modern medical services through specialised departments such as medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology and psychiatry. The hospital will also provide 24×7 emergency and trauma care, modern ICU, advanced diagnostic facilities, as well as in-patient, out-patient and day-care services.
What is the status of the project?
The project was recently taken up during a high-level meeting chaired by the Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India, at the Chief Secretary’s office, where pending projects listed on the PMG (Project Monitoring Group) portal were reviewed. Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij who was taking a keen interest in the project had also discussed the matter with the Central minister and the departments concerned to expedite the project. Following the meetings, the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has issued the land allotment letter of an institutional plot to the ESIC Regional Director, and after the ESIC makes the payment for the land and the construction work will be carried out by the Central Government. The hospital will come on nearly 5-acres and the cost of land is over Rs 12.84 crore. Anil Vij said he was coordinating with the Union Government and other departments to ensure the project moved forward smoothly.
