Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today said they will conduct “Swachhta Ranking” of all cities, on the lines of Centre’s Swachh Survekshan.
While presiding over a cleanliness review meeting with senior government officers in Panchkula, he said cities that rank best would be honoured.
The CM also inaugurated building of Swarna Jayanti Haryana Institute for Fiscal Management in Sector 3.
Saini said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had envisioned making India a developed nation by 2047 and officers would play a crucial role in shaping this vision.
He emphasised that it was the collective responsibility of all of us to keep our surroundings clean and to guide society towards a new direction.
He said “Swachhata Pakhwada” would be observed from September 17 to October 2, during which awareness programmes would be organised to ensure active public participation.
He directed civic body officials to promptly resolve even the smallest cleanliness complaints to build public trust in the government.
He also called for beautification and maintenance of roundabouts under the CSR initiatives. He said stray cattle should be sent to gaushalas.
Saini added that patients visiting government hospitals should be listened to patiently and provided with the best medical care.
Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, and Health and Family Welfare Minister Arti Singh Rao were also present.
