BJP candidate from Ateli Arti Singh Rao, daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, promised to get Ateli the status of a subdivision if she won in the Assembly poll, adding that overall development of the Ateli region would be her priority.

She made this announcement while addressing a poll meeting at Sagarpur village of the Ateli Assembly constituency. “My aim is to resolve all issues of the constituency and to ensure its development,” she said, slamming those who were claiming that she would not be available at Ateli after elections.

“My ancestors have a long political career here. I also want to stay at Ateli and serve people. If I do not stay among people after taking votes once, why will not vote for me again. My two generations have contested from here. How can I be an outsider?” she asked.

Enumerating the development works undertaken during the BJP regime, she claimed people got employment on the basis of merit and many youths from every village got jobs in the area.

“How much canal water did we get in the past 10 years? How much do we get today? What was the condition of roads, electricity, health, education, agriculture, employment, business sector over a decade ago, and what is the condition today? Everyone can see the difference. The BJP deserves to form the government again,” she added.

Rajiv Yadav, a local resident, said Ateli fell under the Narnaul subdivision, hence people had to go to Narnaul, 16 km away from Ateli, for administrative work. “This issue is so important that other candidates are also making the same promise,” he said.
