In the Assembly election of 2019, Adarsh Pal had contested the election on a BSP ticket from Jagadhri Assembly constituency and gave a tough fight to BJP leader Kanwar Pal Gujjar and Congress leader Akram Khan.

As per political observers, this time too, with the entry of Adarsh Pal, the battle of ballot has turned into a triangular contest at this hot Jagadhri seat.

They say that he is likely to give a tough fight to three-time sitting MLA and BJP candidate Kanwar Pal Gujjar and two-time former MLA and Congress candidate Akram Khan this time too.

On the other hand, after being denied a ticket, Brijpal Chhappar also left Congress party and joined BSP.

He is contesting election from Sadhaura Assembly constituency on the ticket of INLD-BSP alliance.

Earlier, his wife Pinki Chhappar had contested the Assembly election of 2014 on an INLD ticket and stood second by bagging an impressive 49626 votes (30.15 percent).

As per political observers, Brijpal Chhappar is likely to give a tough fight to sitting MLA and Congress candidate Renu Bala and three-time former MLA and BJP candidate Balwant Singh.

“Jumping into the poll fray, Adarsh Pal Singh in Jagadhri and Brijpal Chhappar in Sadhaura Assembly constituency have made the election interesting. Both leaders have disturbed the electoral mathematics of the candidates of the BJP and the Congress parties in both Assembly constituencies of the district,” said a political observer.
