Woman axed to death in Jhajjar over property dispute

A woman, identified as Sunita (52), was axed to death allegedly by the elder brother of her husband at Priya Colony in Jhajjar city on Sunday night. Property dispute is stated to be the reason behind the crime while the police have started investigation after registering a case of murder against Rajbir on the complaint of Sunita’s daughter in this regard.

Sources said the accused later consumed some poisonous substance after perpetrating the crime and he had been admitted to a hospital.

“On getting information about the crime at 11.30 pm, we rushed to the spot and found the woman dead. The body was then sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem. Later, a team of forensic experts also visited the scene of crime,” said Investigation Officer Dharamvir, adding that the body was handed over to the kin after the post-mortem examination.
