Woman dies by suicide in Jind village
A 27-year-old woman, Annu Rani, died by suicide by consuming a poisonous substance in Sahanpur village of Safidon subdivision in Jind district. She was a mother of two children, aged five and two years.
The police said that there was some domestic discord in the family which could be the reason behind the step. The family of the victim leveled allegations on her in-laws accusing them of pushing her to take the extreme step.
The police reached the spot today and took the body to the Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination. According to initial reports, Annu consumed poison at home, allegedly driven by domestic disputes. Her parents, who reside in Samalkha in Panipat district, were informed about the incident.
Annu's father, Ramphal alleged that his daughter was subjected to harassment since she got married to Vinod seven years ago. He alleged that Annu was mistreated by her in-laws. He said that her husband was unemployed and was dependent on financial support from her parents. The police have started an investigation.
