Woman doctor’s death: Clerk held, wife claims he’s innocent in video
Udesh Yadav, a clerk at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU) in Hisar, has been remanded in police custody for three days in connection with the mysterious death of 25-year-old Dr Bhavna Yadav from Rajasthan.
Udesh, who went missing shortly after Bhavna’s death due to burn injuries, was arrested late last evening. According to police officials, he had travelled to Bikaner after the incident.
Police sources said preliminary investigation suggests Dr Bhavna was allegedly pressuring Udesh to divorce his wife and marry her. The nature of their relationship and the circumstances surrounding her death are now under scrutiny.
Adding a twist to the case, a video surfaced on social media shortly before Udesh’s arrest, in which his wife defended him, claiming he was innocent. “He got frightened after Bhavna’s death and went away,” she said in the video. She alleged that the deceased had immolated herself.
Dr Bhavna, who hailed from Rajasthan, suffered serious burn injuries and was initially admitted to a hospital in Hisar. She was later shifted to Rajasthan, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Following the incident, a zero FIR was registered in Rajasthan on the basis of a complaint filed by Bhavna’s mother, Gayatri Devi. The case was subsequently transferred to Hisar, where further investigations are being carried out.
