Woman duped of Rs 8.55 lakh in college admission fraud
A woman was allegedly duped of Rs 8.55 lakh by some persons, who promised to secure her daughter’s MBBS seat at a college in Russia.
One of the accused is reportedly a student of a post-graduation (medicine) course in Russia. On the complaint of Veena Rani of Harbanspura Colony in Yamunanagar, a case was registered against Mohammad Danish, Monika and Aniket at the Gandhi Nagar police station.
The complainant said her daughter wanted to pursue MBBS degree abroad. She said in May, she came in contact with Danish, who was working as a counselor in Russia.
She said he assured her that he would her daughter’s seat at an MBBS college in Russia.
“Danish and his accomplices took Rs 8.55 lakh from us. He sent my daughter to Russia but he didn’t deposit her MBBS fee in the college. Later, I had to deposit the fee of my daughter myself,” the complainant told the police.
She said when she asked Danish to return the money, he did not pay her back.
