A woman from Arjun Majra was allegedly duped of Rs 3.25 lakh on the promise of sending her to Armenia. A case was registered against Joga Singh and his wife, residents of Phagwara (Punjab), at the Chhachhrauli police station on Saturday. The complainant told the police that her husband had been living in Armenia for some years. The woman wanted to pay him a visit, therefore contacted Joga. She further said Joga assured that her that he would send her to Armenia and demanded Rs 3.50 lakh from her for the same. Joga Singh told her that they would send her to Armenia via Dubai by April 2024. They took Rs 3.25 lakh and documents from her, including her passport, a police official said. She alleged that the accused neither sent her to Armenia, nor returned her money.
