The main gate of the house was bolted from within and no one else was present at the time of the incident.
According to police, prima facie evidence suggests it may be a case of suicide, as deep cut marks inflicted by a sharp-edged tool were found on the woman’s neck.
The deceased has been identified as Rajni. Her husband, Rajiv, is employed with an aviation company.
Renovation work was reportedly underway at the house. On Tuesday morning, Rajiv went to the market to buy juice. When he returned, he heard the sound of an electronic grinder from inside the house, but received no response when he rang the doorbell. Despite repeated attempts, the door remained unanswered. Growing suspicious, he broke open the mesh door and entered the house, where he found his wife lying in a pool of blood.
Rajiv rushed Rajni to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Bahadurgarh DCP Mayank Mishra stated that the case appears to be a suicide based on preliminary findings. However, an investigation is underway.
“There was no one else in the house at the time. Rajni had reportedly been undergoing treatment for depression for the past two years. Her family has not expressed suspicion of foul play,” he added.
The DCP maintained that the body had been sent to civil hospital where autopsy would be conducted by a board of doctors.
