A woman gave birth to an infant on a moving bus while returning home in Bawal town on Saturday evening. Both the mother and newborn are reported to be in stable condition.
According to reports, the woman had visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bawal for a routine checkup. After an initial examination, she was referred to the Civil Hospital in Rewari, where doctors informed her that there was still time for delivery.
Thereafter, she boarded a bus to return home in Bawal. During the journey, she experienced labour pain and delivered the baby on board.
The bus conductor immediately arranged for her to be admitted to a nearby hospital, where she and the newborn are at present under medical care.
Dr Narendra Dahiya, Civil Surgeon, Rewari, said he came to know about the incident. “I have ordered an inquiry to gather complete details and determine whether proper medical procedures were followed,” he added.
