The police arrested a woman for allegedly killing her three-year-old niece at Khilluka village in the district on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Hansira. A police spokesperson said she had taken the extreme step out of jealousy after she felt that her parents were more attached to the girl than Hansira’s own children.
SHO Manoj Kumar said while the matter was being investigated. He said the police had registered a case on the complaint lodged by Saddam Husain, the deceased’s uncle. The accused is being produced in the court for further action in this regard.
