Woman shot dead in Jhajjar village

Jhajjar, March 18

A woman (25) was killed and her father was seriously injured in an attack by car-borne assailants near Girawar village here on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Usha of Chhara village, worked in a private school and had been residing at her parents’ house in Chhara village here for the past some years.

She had a three-year-old daughter. The injured — Rishi Pal — has been admitted to PGIMS in Rohtak.

The crime was perpetrated when Rishi Pal and Usha were going on a motorbike. When they reached near Girawar village, a car forced them to stop.

Armed youths disembarked from the car and opened several rounds of fire at Usha and her father. Then, they fled from the spot in their car.

Usha reportedly died on the spot while Rishi Pal was rushed to a hospital in Bahadurgarh from where he was referred to PGIMS in Rohtak following his critical condition.

Phool Kanwar, SHO, Aasodha police station, said a case under relevant Sections of the IPC had been registered against unidentified persons on the complaint of Usha’s father. “Efforts are on to ascertain the cause behind the attack and to nab the assailants,” he added.
