Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap on Monday inaugurated the Atal Kisan Majdoor Canteen at the grain market in Kunjpura. This canteen is being operated by women from self-help groups (SHGs). Market Committee member Sarita Chaudhary and members of SHGs welcomed the chief guest.

After inaugurating the canteen, MLA Kashyap sat with others to taste the food prepared by SHG women and praised the quality and flavour of the meals being served.

Kashyap highlighted that the initiative aligned with the vision of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini of ensuring that all sections of society, especially farmers, labourers, and the underprivileged, received benefits. He said with the support of the Market Committee, the canteen would provide freshly cooked, hygienic meals at a subsidised rate of just Rs 10 per plate to the farmers, labourers and other needy individuals visiting the mandi.

“Such canteens have been launched across almost all districts of Haryana under the leadership of CM Nayab Singh Saini and Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, as part of their commitment to inclusive welfare and social support.

The canteen will serve meals including dal, sabzi, four chapatis, and rice, and has seating arrangements for 50–60 persons at a time. It will operate daily from 11am to

Kashyap further emphasised the state government’s focus on women's empowerment, pointing out that the initiative provided income and dignity to women running the canteen. He also referred to the Chief Minister’s recent Budget announcement, promising that within six months, all roads in the state would be repaired and brought to proper condition—including those in the Indri constituency.
