On the occasion of International Women's Day, Kumari Selja, the Member of Parliament from Sirsa, thanked women for their vital role in her political success. She highlighted that women were advancing rapidly in all fields and their contributions to the nation's growth were significant. Speaking at a gathering in Kalanwali in Sirsa district, Selja assured the people that even though the Congress government was not in power, she would continue to fight for their rights and work for their welfare.

During her visit, she expressed her deep appreciation for the love and respect she had received from the people of Ambala over the past 20 years. She shared that her party and leadership had initially wanted her to run from Ambala again, but the people of Kalanwali raised their voices so strongly that they asked her to return to Sirsa. According to her, surveys indicated that people wanted her to come back and she was committed to winning both seats.

Selja strongly criticised the BJP government, accusing them of only making empty promises. She said the BJP’s actions did not match their words and that they failed to fulfil the commitments they made. She particularly pointed out that farmers were still waiting for the compensation they were promised and that the government had ignored the issues of workers and the youth. According to her, over 180,000 government jobs remained vacant, and young people were struggling to find employment. She also said the BJP’s handling of welfare schemes, such as pension distribution and ration cards, had caused unnecessary problems for the public.

She reminded the crowd that her family shared a long and close bond with the people of Kalanwali, and she was always committed to serving them. She urged her workers to stay hopeful and said they would be given respect and support.

Selja also took selfies with women in the villages, even taking the phone of one woman to capture the moment herself. She assured the women that she would continue to raise her voice for their rights and interests.
