Women’s safety training at police academy
A five-day training programme on women’s safety, organised under the aegis of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), New Delhi, concluded on Friday at Haryana Police Academy (HPA), Madhuban.
The programme aimed to enhance awareness and equip police personnel with necessary skills to address issues related to women’s safety and workplace harassment.
During the programme, HPA Director Dr AS Chawla interacted with participants.
Deputy District Attorney Surendra Kumar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, in which 22 police personnel from various units across the state participated.
He highlighted the developing role of women in society, emphasising their journey from vulnerability to empowerment.
He spoke about workplace harassment and urged officials to ensure a bias-free environment for women employees.
He stressed the importance of gender sensitivity and teamwork, which strengthen work culture and enhance efficiency.
He said such training programmes were crucial to guiding investigators and spreading awareness.
At the end of the session, participation certificates were distributed to the attendees.
In the evaluation process, Probationer Sub-Inspector Sarita from Rewari secured the first position, Probationer SI Anju from Faridabad stood second, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Manjeet Kaur from Kaithal bagged the third position.
