Won’t tolerate project delays: CM Saini

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today held a detailed review meeting with officials in Sirsa. He checked the progress of pending development projects and warned that no delay or excuses will be tolerated.

The CM instructed officers to complete their work within deadlines.

Saini highlighted the delay in establishing the regional centre of Lala Lajpat Rai University at Makhosarani village by the Animal Husbandry Department.

He ordered strict departmental action against officials who missed the meetings. The CM instructed a charge sheet against Bhanu Pratap, former Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, for negligence in the project execution.

Reviewing reports on government announcements and public complaints, the CM Saini concern over slow progress of various development works. He warned officers that failure to meet deadlines would lead to strict action.

He said complaints reaching Chandigarh indicated a lack of work at the local level and officials causing such delays would face consequences.

Saini directed departments to expedite key projects, including new sewerage systems at Sirsa grain market, shifting vegetable and timber markets outside the city, construction of platforms in Dabwali grain market and road works.

He also pressed for faster completion of multi-level parking and municipal building projects.

A local BJP leader informed the CM that 41 colonies were marked for regularisation and of these, 22 had been legalised so far.

The CM warned officers against delaying the NOCs. He also instructed publishing maps and names of all legal colonies and said no new illegal colonies should be allowed.

Speaking over a recent clash between MLA Gokul Setia and the District Council CEO, the CM said the CEO’s actions were wrong and advised the MLA to improve his attitude.
