Rich tributes were paid to Swami Vivekananda and architect of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar during 'Samvidhan Gaurav Samaroh’ and ‘Rashtriya Yuva Diwas Samaroh' organised at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) on Sunday.
Union Minister and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, who was the chief guest, said youth must take inspiration from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He exhorted the youth to dedicate themselves for the cause of upliftment of society by following the path shown by Swami Vivekananda.
Khattar said the concept of equality, equity and inclusive development owes its origin to Dr BR Ambedkar's pioneering work in drafting the Constitution.
“The BJP government is working steadfastly for welfare and development of all sections of society. The Centre has made concerted efforts to bring marginalised sections of society into the mainstream by ensuring inclusive growth and development,” said Khattar.
Retired IAS officer Dr Dalip Singh said the Constitution had ensured rapid development of the nation. “The status of poor, downtrodden and marginalised has improved drastically due to the Constitutional provisions resulting in a welfare-centric state. The Constitutional amendments made during Prime Minister(s) Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi have firmly ensured the interests of the reserved categories," he said.
MDU Vice Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh said the MDU would celebrate the Constitution’s 75th anniversary with several programmes during the entire year.
