Work has finally begun on the state’s first science centre in Ambala, with Science and Technology Minister Anil Vij performing ‘bhoomi poojan’ on Thursday evening.

Christened Aryabhatta Vigyan Kendra, the project will come up over five acres adjacent to the upcoming War Memorial. The project will cost Rs 40 crore.

The centre will have a science gallery, 270-degree immersive projection hall and 3D auditorium. Galleries and exhibits will be installed by the National Council of Science Museums, Kolkata.
