A three-day training on mushroom production technology was conducted by Saina Nehwal Agricultural Technology, Training and Education Institute of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. Trainees from 16 districts of Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab participated in the programme.
Co-director of the institute Ashok Kumar Godara said that mushroom production was a business which landless, educated or uneducated young men and women could adopt as self-employment at minimal cost and increase their income.
The participants were also provided training on various subjects like beekeeping, earthworm compost production, organic farming, seed production, dairy farming, fruit and vegetable training, milk and milk products, bakery, spray technology, value addition of food items, nursery raising, gardening, etc. He said that the government is also encouraging farmers and unemployed youth to adopt it as a business.
