World Entrepreneurs Day: Students encouraged to turn ideas into reality

Kurukshetra University Technology Incubation Centre (KUTIC) celebrated World Entrepreneurs Day in the Senate Hall on Wednesday.
Kurukshetra University Vice Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva said the day was observed to encourage individuals to explore their entrepreneurial potential and take steps to turn their business ideas into reality. The VC added that with over 90,000 startups and 110 unicorn companies, India ranks third in the world as a startup hub. The government has launched initiatives and schemes to support the aspiring entrepreneurs.
Sourabh Jain, the keynote speaker, emphasised the need for entrepreneurship to create more jobs for a growing economy, foster innovation and creativity, empower and make people self-reliant, ensure economic growth and development, encourage social responsibility, adapt to work conditions, build global mindset and to promote inclusive growth.
RUSA Nodal Officer Pardeep Kumar said for students in India, embracing entrepreneurship can be transformative, not only on a personal level, but also for society and economy.
