X-ray machine at Sirsa hospital outdated, patients a harried lot

Patients at the Sub-District Hospital, Dabwali, are facing problems due to an outdated X-ray machine being used for scanning, claiming that the films lack clarity. As a result, they have to get their X-rays done at double rates from outside.

Films lack clarity

The residents have demanded an X-ray digital machine for the hospital as nearly 400 patients visit the OPD on a daily basis. Orthopaedic specialist Dr Saurabh Arora daily attends to around 250 patients in

the OPD. Devinder Singh, a resident, said the hospital did not have the X-ray facility for three years, but it was later provided.

However, due to its outdated technology, the patients had to get their X-rays done from outside, Singh added.

Dabwali SMO Dr Sukhwant Singh Hayer said the current technology had become outdated, adding that the demand to provide a digital machine to the hospital had been sent to the Health Department. Soon, people would have the access to a digital X-ray machine there, he added.
