The administration has constituted a committee and has set up 11 new check-posts to stop illegal mining in Yamunanagar district. Besides, CCTV cameras have also been installed at these check-posts.

“We are making all efforts to stop illegal mining in the district. We have formed a committee, which includes officials of different departments to stop illegal mining,” said Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta.

He said the police had also set up check-posts wherever vehicles loaded with illegal mining pass through the district. He added that the FIRs had been lodged against those involved in illegal mining.

Gupta said the police and Mining Department's teams should do checking in a coordinated manner.

He said if any vehicle was found involved in illegal mining activity, it should be seized on the spot and departmental and police action should be taken against the owner of the vehicle.

He said all screening plants should be inspected to find out the validity of their consent to operate (CTO) and check other required documents.

He asked officials to take strict action against screening plants found operating illegally without required documents/permissions.
