Yamunanagar admn teams impound three vehicles

Teams of the district administration have impounded three vehicles in connection with illegal mining, transportation of mining minerals illegally, and overloading.

The teams have also imposed a fine of Rs 15,56,500 on the owners of 40 vehicles in the district.

DC Parth Gupta said the teams — which included personnel from the Mines and Geology Department, Regional Transport Authority, and Jagadhri, Chhachhrauli, Vyaspur and Radaur SDMs — checked 1,488 vehicles in the district last night. He said a team, led by SDM Chhachhrauli, which included officials of the Regional Transport Authority, checked 750 vehicles. The team also impounded one vehicle, he added.He said another team, led by the Jagadhri SDM, checked 109 vehicles and imposed a fine of Rs 1.67 lakh on the owners of 13 vehicles.

He added that a team, led by the Radaur SDM, checked 502 vehicles and impounded two vehicles. He said the team issued challans to the owners of 15 vehicles and imposed a fine of Rs 4,57,500.

The team led by SDM Vyaspur checked 127 vehicles and issued challans to seven vehicles.
