nanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation (MC) carried out a drive against illegal hoardings, banners and other publicity materials from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Agrasen Chowk on Railway Road. Officials said the unauthorised displays were obstructing traffic, undermining the city’s aesthetics and causing revenue losses amounting to lakhs of rupees.

Despite repeated warnings to shopkeepers, companies and individuals, many continued to install hoardings and place signboards on roadside stretches. Acting on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad, an MC team led by SDO Rajesh Sharma removed the illegal materials along the route.

Sharma said several shopkeepers had encroached upon public space by placing signboards on the road. The removed material has been transported to the MC store.

He added that the corporation has already designated authorised sites in Yamunanagar and Jagadhri for installing hoardings and banners. Individuals can use these spaces by paying the prescribed fee.

Sharma also urged shopkeepers to avoid placing signboards on roadsides and instead install signage above their shops to maintain smooth traffic flow and preserve city beautification efforts.
