Yamunanagar civic body team removes encroachments to prevent traffic jams
Drive conducted on Jagadhri Workshop Road and Auto Market
A team of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) on Thursday removed encroachments from Jagadhri Workshop road and Auto Market in Yamunanagar to prevent traffic jams during the festive season.
The team confiscated the goods, which were kept on the road. According to information, following the instructions of MCYJ Commissioner Mahabir Parsad a team led by Sanitation Inspector Govind Sharma carried out the drive from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Maharana Pratap Chowk on Jagadhri Workshop road.
The team removed encroachments from both sides of the road. As soon as the team began removing the encroachments, several shopkeepers began removing their goods from the road and placing them inside their shops.
“Encroachment narrows roads and streets, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public. Traffic is already disrupted during the festive season. Therefore, keeping in mind the public inconvenience, an anti-encroachment drive is being carried out in the twin cities,” said Govind Sharma. He said later the team removed the encroachments from the Auto Market.
He added that the shopkeepers were warned of fines if they placed their goods on the road again. According to information, on the instructions of Mahabir Parsad, three teams have been formed to remove the encroachments from the twin cities.
A team headed by Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh has been formed for Wards 1 to 7.
The other teams have been formed under supervision of CSI Vinod Beniwal for Wards 8 to 15 and CSI Anil Nain for Wards 16 to 22.
