Yamunanagar-Jagadhri MC reaches out to residents via WhatsApp
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has started sending messages on WhatsApp numbers of citizens of twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri to make them aware about maintaining sanitation and to seek their cooperation in the Swachh Survey.
After launching this service, Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav said, “This service has been launched to enable residents of twin cities participation in the cleanliness survey. It will also help the MCYJ get the best ranking in the Swachh Survekshan.”
He said through this service, the MCYJ had started sending messages to WhatsApp numbers of citizens regarding making the twin cities clean and beautiful. “People will be made aware about not throwing garbage in the open and in drains. They should separate wet and dry waste and dispose of in vehicles of the MCYJ coming door-to-door to collect garbage,” said Dr Vijay Pal Yadav.
He said the civic body authorities were appealing through messages to send photos of piled up garbage with location on the MCYJ’s WhatsApp number 7082410824.
“After receiving photos, garbage will be lifted as soon as possible,” said Dr Vijay Pal Yadav.
He appealed to people to carry a bag from home while going to market to buy goods. He said educational institutions, religious places, NGOs, resident welfare societies, industries, hospitals, restaurants, dhabas, hotels and other institutions should cooperate with the MCYJ to get a better ranking in Swachh Survekshan.
Chief Sanitary Inspectors Harjeet Singh and Sunil Dutt, Sanitary Inspector Govind Sharma, Swachh Bharat Mission’s activity expert Pooja, NGO Ek Soch Nai Soch founder Shashi Gupta, Yash Gupta were among the ones present.
